It’s official – I have my certificate and everything. Today was the final class and drill for my CERT training. Easy: fire supression, triage. Not so easy: medical ops and search and rescue. It’s kind of tough to find someone and get them out of a collapsed building, and this was only a drill. Hopefully I’ll never have to put this to use.
Lots of media there, I was interviewed by WTOP radio, and cameras were all around, even following me into the dark when searching for victims. Didn’t make me self-concious in the least. Yikes. As if I wasn’t nervous enough about screwing up!!
