Just As I Thought

Reading is so fundamental

I just don’t understand it.
People keep posting earnest letters to the hosts of BBC’s Ground Force here on my blog. It makes no sense.
I made an entry back in May when the Ground Force team came to the area to re-do a garden in Clinton, Maryland. (That episode aired yesterday.) In the entry, I just commented that I would, like many people, like them to do a makeover of my tiny patio area.
Since then a bunch of people have commented on the entry asking Ground Force to come to their hometown. This is totally bizarre — there is not a single word on my site that would indicate that it’s an official BBC site or that the Ground Force team would ever get the comments, and yet, they keep coming… even despite an entreaty not to do it that I posted.
And yet, another person posted a comment there today, going so far as to list a home address and phone number.
People are really dumb sometimes when it comes to handing out their personal information over the Internet, aren’t they?
So, what do you think? Should I kindly delete their home information? Or leave it there as a monument to those who have trouble with the process that most of us call thought?

  • I think you should call the person and set up a date to come film the show. And then tell them its $100 up front. Heh!
