I just don’t understand.
I have the worst luck possible when it comes to delivery companies, and my bad luck continues unabated.
I ordered a custom-built, tricked-out Powermac G5 a few weeks ago, and it finally shipped last week. For some reason, Apple sent it via FedEx “Home Delivery” even though it was going to my office.
Saturday I checked the tracking info to discover that it was on the truck for delivery, so I jumped up and drove in to my office. I finally left about 2:30 in the afternoon when it was clear that it wasn’t coming.
On Sunday, the tracking information indicated that a delivery attempt had been made at 1:30. Now, being the anxious guy I am, I was sitting right by the window in our office at that time, overlooking the front entrance. I never saw a FedEx truck arrive.
Today, we’ve already had our FedEx shipment for the morning, but no G5. Finally, I called FedEx to berate them.
You know what they said?
“We don’t do home delivery on Monday.”
I am not kidding you.
“We deliver on Saturday, so Monday is our weekend.”
That ranks right up there with their disclaimer that they don’t guarantee next day delivery if it rains.
