There have now been 700 American servicepeople killed in Iraq. I don’t think anyone even knows how many civilians have died, but I can only assume that it is in the thousands.
All told, between Afghanistan and Iraq, it seems certain that more people have died as in the Bush “War on Terrorism” than were actually murdered on September 11.
And yet, I don’t feel safer.
