Just As I Thought

In and out

Wes points out that Blogactive has posted a story purporting to “out” a conservative Republican congressman from Virginia Beach. I’ve never heard of this congressman, and there doesn’t seem to be any corroboration to this story — but hey, since when did posts on the internet need any fact checking or corroboration?

Congressman Ed Schrock has made a habit of rendezvousing with gay men via the MegaMates/ MegaPhone Line, an interactive telephone service on which men place ads and respond to those ads to meet each other. What makes this story more amazing? Congressman Schrock not only voted for the homophobic Marriage Protection Act, but he also signed on as a CO-SPONSOR of the Federal Marriage Amendment!

Ed Schrock has a voting record that the most right wing conservative would be proud of. The Christian Coalition gave him a 92% rating in their 2003 voting guide.

His score over at the Human Rights Campaign? ZERO!

Well, the guy sounds like an ass to me, regardless of his sexual proclivities, so I’ll spread the manure a bit.

Speaking of manure, in other “gay” news, the Golan Cipel party keeps on going. From Queer Day:

A 47-year-old New Jersey doctor came forward yesterday to claim he is an ex-lover of Golan Cipel, the man at the center of Governor McGreevey’s gay sex scandal. “I was with Golan when he wasn’t with Jim,” said Dr. Michael David Miller, who described his relationship with Cipel as sexual. “I was never with him when he was with Jim. I’m monogamous.” Miller’s claims directly refute Cipel’s recent statements who has insisted in interviews with Israeli media that he is straight. “I like Golan,” Miller added. “He can be very affectionate.” With Cipel’s attempt at portraying himself as a victim of McGreevey’s repeated sexual advances, Miller’s story could potentially aid McGreevey in court should a lawsuit be launched. New York Post

In an interview the New York Daily News described as manic and disjointed, Miller also said he is a CIA operative who takes pills doled out by the intelligence agency to make his skin darker so he can infiltrate unnamed groups. He insisted on conducting the interview in Spanish to show his contempt for the United States and could offer no proof he knew Cipel. New York Daily News
The fun never ends when you’re a Gay American.
