The Fox Version

Holy cow.
Yeah, I don’t know what I expected, but it was worse than I thought.
I tuned in for a few minutes to “Renovate My Family” on Fox, the rip-off of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”
Oh, my.
This was just what you’d think Fox would produce. They picked the trashiest appearing family they could find — people who were obviously in the Fox demographic — then added buxom blonde triplets as carpenters.
Their human drama element is the son, who was paralyzed from a snowboarding accident. And yet, this family is still trashy and doesn’t seem to have a scintilla of the loving bond that you see on ABC’s families. Granted, I only watched for a short time, but I didn’t feel at all happy for them, nor did I find them “worthy” of the gift. Every one of them had a sneer on their face, none of them were even slightly sympathetic.
Yeah, it’s a Fox thing.
P.S. What the hell is the deal with Dr. Phil McGraw? This show is hosted by another nobody, his son Jay. Can I just point out that Dr. Phil is on my list of people that I just can’t stand. Here’s a snotty, fat man telling other people that they should lose weight. Yeah. Nice.
Anyway. Does it seem to you that television is over? I mean there is almost nothing that I am in the least bit interested in watching anymore. Am I just getting old or is TV a complete waste of time? This season, I can think of only 2 shows that I will watch regularly: West Wing and Judging Amy, both of which have gone downhill significantly recently. I might tune in sometimes to Will & Grace and The Simpsons, but just when Tivo catches them.
And yet, I’m paying $60 per month for 200 channels. Oy.
