Just As I Thought

The man he never met

I dunno. He just keeps telling lies. It’s second nature to him, this constant stream of little inconsequential lies that lead to bigger ones. First he reiterated that Saddam was in league with Osama despite all the evidence to the contrary; then he tried to make a snide comment that he’d never met Edwards before the debate.
Well…

The AP says:
• “On Feb. 1, 2001, the vice president thanked Edwards by name at a Senate prayer breakfast and sat beside him during the event.

• “On April 8, 2001, Cheney and Edwards shook hands when they met off-camera during a taping of NBC’s Meet the Press, moderator Tim Russert said Wednesday on Today.

• “On Jan. 8, 2003, the two met when the first-term North Carolina senator accompanied Elizabeth Dole to her swearing-in by Cheney as a North Carolina senator, Edwards aides also said.”

Cheney had plenty to say about Edwards being absent from the Senate. A valid point. I wish, though, that Edwards had mentioned how often Bush is actually in the White House. He’s set a new record for vacations.
Well, that brush isn’t gonna clear itself.
