Just As I Thought

blahcast

I’m not so sure I want to do podcasts now.
I’ve been listening — or trying to listen — to a few today, and invariably they seem to be really… well, boring and annoying. People with voices that grate, rambling that makes me move on and unsubscribe, inanities that just make me wish I never have to meet that person and have a conversation with them.
Maybe I’m just being my usual hyper-critical self about this, but I don’t want my podcasts to be like that. I want them to be something someone might actually enjoy listening to; something that doesn’t just have good production but also good writing and a point to the content.
It’s so much easier to write trivial thoughts than to make a decent radio show out of them. I wonder if I have it in me to not only do it well, but to do it well regularly?

  • Well I’m sorry your podcast experience wasn’t the greatest. All I can say is, if you don’t like what you’re listening to, change to a different podcast. There are some that are annoying and grating, but there are equally, if not more, enjoyable and informative ones.

For me, I treat them like I do reading other folks’ blogs. If something I read isn’t of interest to me, I move to the next and check back later.

    Dunno…[shrug]
    My two cents.
