An excellent essay on the reasons behind NBC’s pathetic Olympics presentation.
NBC’s Olympics coverage continues to be top-notch and knowledgable: “They decided to get some “man on the street” comments from tourists in front of Buckingham Palace, and one of them was Evander Holyfield! Blink and you’ll miss him—Holyfield thought the segment was “wonderful”—but the NBC crew didn’t seem to recognize the former world heavyweight champ (and Olympic medalist).”

A little thing with big implications that I’d never thought of: “People were free to … start their own business without fear of losing their medical coverage.”
We desperately need to make healthcare a universal system just like education, police and fire. Separate it from employment – free small businesses from the overwhelming burden of providing health care and see how many jobs are created, how many new entrepreneurs are created. Moreover, see how the abortion rate drops, how the elderly are no longer bankrupted, how the poor are no longer forced into a constant spiral and unable to dig their way out…

A conservative, young mom discovers that all the fear-mongering about universal health care is just propaganda. Worth a read.
