Just As I Thought

The Do Not Call List

You know that government do-not-call list that everyone was so excited about?

Has it actually, really, ever done any good?

You know that government do-not-call list that everyone was so excited about?

Has it actually, really, ever done any good?

I ask because you’d think that such a system, backed by the federal government, would actually be enforced. But the call log on my call phone begs to differ. I get an average of 2-3 spam calls a day (which I pay for via my mobile minutes). I dutifully enter each and every one into the complaint form on donotcall.gov, as my mobile phone is listed on Do Not Call.

Never once has there been any indication that those complaints are ever acted upon.

And AT&T does not offer call blocking on mobile phones, as they do on landlines — and even then, I would have to pay to block numbers. Doesn’t that seem backwards to you?

Herewith I present a list of numbers that call my cellphone incessantly. I automatically save every number when they call and add them to a special “Spam Caller” contact on my phone. This list was originally a hundred or so long, but I eliminated the numbers that only call once. These are the repeat offenders:

  • (206) 309-3538
  • (206) 397-1207
  • (206) 397-1548
  • (206) 397-1563
  • (206) 426-6486
  • (213) 416-2888
  • (213) 504-7017
  • (360) 722-5901
  • (360) 722-5910
  • (402) 982-0722
  • (402) 982-0746
  • (402) 982-0779
  • (402) 982-0869
  • (425) 291-8400
  • (425) 587-1004
  • (517) 931-2478
  • (603) 214-3565
  • (603) 214-3583
  • (605) 955-9889
  • (630) 721-6290
  • (646) 467-6665
  • (702) 520-1418
  • (800) 783-6640
  • (866) 467-7200
  • (877) 728-8912
  • (877) 855-7441
  • (877) 890-1291
  • (909) 691-9149
  • (978) 570-2241

Do with this list as you will. But I don’t condone violence.
