Just As I Thought

Next Up: Presidential Idol

Is this a new thing? Did this just happen for the first time, or did I miss it in the past?

Everywhere I look there are ads for tomorrow’s Republican debate, with a big, eye-catching rendering of CNN’s lithe studboy (as opposed to their chunkier studboys, of which there are plenty these days.) A presidential debate is now, for the first time as far as I can recall, being promoted by who is moderating. Anderson Cooper is now, officially, the Ryan Seacrest of politics.

  • You’re a designer… tell me if I’m wrong but does that ad look like an old Soviet propaganda poster?

  • Anderson was on Ellen for what seemed like all of 2 minutes yesterday. (I don’t watch Ellen willingly; CNN was cut off at the gym a few weeks ago) and he was was skittish, even nervous in the presence of Ms. Nice Lesbian. He said “I was afraid you were going to make me do that thing” (dance). Then they talked about reality TV; he watches The Bachelor. They never mentioned the debate. It was surreal. Could he be more gay?

And yeah Kirk I agree with you. It looks… Soviet.
