Just As I Thought

Survival of the fittest

OK, this is going to be a nasty, mean comment. But really, it seems to me that people are just complete morons.
The deaths from the hurricane – a misnomer if I ever heard one – are beginning to hit the news. A guy who drove through an intersection where the lights were out instead of treating it like a four-way stop, and hit a police car. People who have died from carbon monoxide poisoning because the ran generators inside the house. A guy who drowned because he was out canoeing in the hurricane.
Sounds to me like all the deaths so far are from stupidity, not Isabel.
Maybe it’s good that we’ve thinned out their ranks a bit.

  • sound like darwin award winners to me.

    oh, just as a note, i recently stumbled onto your website from a search, and since then, i’ve made it my personal mission to read all of your archives. 😀 it’s incredible to me that there IS intelligent life out there – and it’s tolerant!!

    thank you!!

  • I hear ya! We have hurricanes and tropical storms down here all the time, and you can count on at least 4 things being shown by the news:

    1. An intrepid weather reporter being buffeted about by cyclone-force winds, hail the size of golf balls and horizontal rain, all to let us know how “nasty and dangerous it is out here”;

    2. Idiots driving through 4 feet of water and getting stuck, even though they’ve been warned;

    3. More idiots who “refused to evacuate” having to be rescued from vehicles, trees or the roofs of their own houses;

    4. Real true idiots letting their kids caper in the treacherous surf or, even worse, in the local bayous where snakes and mosquitoes abound.

    And people wonder why so many end up dead or injured. Hell-ooo! It’s a HURRICANE, folks, not an amusement park ride.
