The rain has been making things slide and collapse and sink all over the place here, and one of the most disruptive has been Devils Slide, just north of here along the coast. The hillside there is sliding into the ocean, and it’s taking US 1 with it.
They’ve closed another section of US 1 north of San Francisco due to slides; according to the news just now they’re waiting for AT&T to remove phone lines from the road before they can reopen it.
I’m sure that AT&T told them to be there between 9am and 5pm tomorrow for their technician.
