Those class action lawsuits really pay off… for the lawyers.
The big lawsuit over price-fixing of music CDs is over, and the checks for $12.60 are going out to all the plaintiffs. The settlement is totalled at $143 million. The actual cash payout, after attorney’s fees, is $44 million. Do the math: 2/3 of the settlement went to the attorneys.
