I just took a few minutes to look at what I blogged a year ago in this space, and was struck by two things: first, there was some big stuff happening in February 2003: the Columbia disaster, the death of Mr. Rogers, a big snowstorm, and — I forgot about this — a pervading sense that some terrorist activity was about to take place in Washington.
Second, I seem to have gotten more and more cynical and depressed since last year.
Sad, really.
