One of my pet peeves — as if you hadn’t noticed — is the weird pricing of water. It’s cheaper to buy a 16 oz soda than a 12oz bottle of water, which defies all logic considering that the soda is water PLUS other ingredients.
Well, some people point out that the water is purer or comes from mountain streams, or whatever. Yeah, sure it does.
And now comes this from the BBC:
Soft drink giant Coca-Cola has admitted it is selling purified tap water in a bottle.
It says the source for its new Dasani bottled water is the mains supply at its factory in Kent.
The company says Dasani is “as pure as bottled water gets” due to a “highly sophisticated purification process”.
And people thought I was weird for bottling filtered tap water and keeping it in the fridge. Why pay for the tap water twice?
