It’s scary how certain words come together in a search — someone searched for “cbs news 21 april 2004 crash photos princess diana” on some search engine, and ended up here: my site came up as the 13th result, astonishingly enough. The thing is, I never blogged about Princess Diana, and certainly have no desire to see gruesome pictures of her in a car accident.
But a short time ago, I included a little thingy that assesses one’s age by historical events, which said something about how old I was when she died. Suddenly, search engines think I am writing about Princess Diana. (Heck, the words “Princess Diana” have appeared more times in this single entry than all the other entries combined.)
I get so many odd search referrals that have nothing to do with what I wrote, but when there are 1,500 entries to choose from, chances are that the individual words you’re searching for are there, somewhere, out of context.
