It’s unlikely that I’ll comment on tomorrow’s report from the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States… mostly because I’ve made enough comments already.
Today, NPR aired a special report on the Commission’s work, which was excellent. It was helpful to remember what’s come before, as the media — and by extension, the public — tend to forget things that happened only recently, such as the White House’s opposition to a commission; the good old Presidential Daily Briefing warning about bin Laden; Commission member Richard Ben-Veniste posing questions to elicit a damning response then not letting Condoleeza Rice finish her answer, and all those other things that are good for a chuckle or two.
