At least the internet is more reliable than satellite television: from thousands of miles away, I listened live to BBC Radio 4 this afternoon as they broadcast the first episode of the new Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series!
It started out rather slowly, filled with exposition to bridge the decades-old gap in shows, but picked up tremendously when Marvin the Paranoid Android made a return appearance, having a morose conversation with a mattress.
The end of the show, with the old music and the same continuity announcer, reminded me of the days years ago when I first heard the original.
Ah, memories…
You can listen to each episode for up to a week after it’s original broadcast on the BBC website. The complete series will be released on CD next month.
