Rod Paige, the secretary of education is the next one to go. I’m not one of his fans really, but as the Bush administration doesn’t allow cabinet secretaries to actually formulate any policy, I shrug my shoulders.
I am interested in this quote from Paige, though:
Before Brown v. Board, Paige said, the U.S. Constitution was “an empty promise as far as I was concerned. The American ideal did not include us. Now it does.”
That’s funny, I always liked the Constitution… but it will soon be an empty promise because it will soon include US.
(Can you read between the lines of that strange, esoteric rant?)
