One of my printer reps came by my office this afternoon and dropped off some free stuff — among the usual note pads and press samples was a nice “2005 Weekly Executive Planner”, one of those books that muckety mucks carry to meetings.
In the back, it includes a bunch of informational stuff like auto mileage between cities, metric equivalents, and — interestingly — a “salary schedule.” This table lists salaries based on annual, monthly, weekly, and hourly rates. The thing is, it starts at $10,700 per year — that’s $5.15 per hour, a stingy minimum wage; and ends at only $54,000 per year.
This book was obviously not designed for real executives, who might hire someone at more than $50K; I can only assume that this is the weekly planner favored by managers of fast food and retail outlets.
