Just As I Thought

Delayed gratification

You know, I love the way a crock pot makes a roast so tender and moist. And cooking is a breeze — throw a bunch of stuff in then walk away.
In fact, the only real problem with a crock pot is that it requires too much work. Granted, it’s not like cooking a 7-course meal; but it’s kind of off-putting to get up early and make dinner before you’ve even had breakfast. I mean, make dinner and you can’t eat it for 8-10 hours? What kind of insanity is that?
This morning before I went to work, I slopped in all the ingredients for beef stroganoff. I expected to come home to the aroma wafting through the house, even though I wouldn’t be able to eat it for 3 or 4 more hours.
Surprise: it turns out that even though I had turned the pot on… it wasn’t plugged in.
D’oh.
