Way back when I worked in retail — those awkward high school years — there was a common refrain: customer service. No matter what you were doing, you would always stop to help customers.
What’s happened since then, I wonder?
Why, when I go to my neighborhood 7-11, do I always see a line of 6 people waiting at the counter for one over-worked checkout guy… while two other employees wander slowly through the store carrying little inventory gadgets, ignoring all the people in line?
