Many moons ago — for that seems an appropriate phrase — I created a Quicktime VR “experience” that allows visitors to wander through Doctor Who’s TARDIS. It’s over in g-world.
I named it “TARDIS Explorer”, and it’s been up (and perpetually unfinished) for about 8 years.
And today, I discovered that the official BBC website has created their own (inferior) version… and called it “TARDIS Explorer.”
Since they have the trademark rights to “TARDIS” and “Doctor Who,” not to mention the copyright on the design of the TARDIS, it would be laughable for me to challenge them on this… but considering that a Google search of “TARDIS Explorer” brings my efforts up as the first result, you’d think that the BBC would have contacted me for a cease and desist… or chosen another name.
