Via Jim Parsons comes this link to a Google maps mashup, overlaying political contributions. With a single click, you can see how your neighborhood donates to political candidates. I’m happy to note that I now live in a nicely blue neighborhood, with 80% Democrats and 84% of contributed dollars going to Democrats:
Compare this to my old neighborhood, where 57% of contributors were Democrats, but 53% of the dollars went to Republicans:
How does your zip code measure up?
Cool site. Let’s see… for our Arlington zip code (22204), Democrats make up 67.8% of the contributors, and 48.5% of the money. Hmm. In the Daly City, Calif., zip code where I grew up (94015), the number of contributions is much lower, but the ratios between the parties are pretty much the same.
The Blue zone, no wonder I’m so comfortable here.

Percent from Democrats: 95.072%
Percent from Republicans: 4.928%
95 to 5 That’s what I like to see.
Thanks Gene, that cheered me up!
