Maybe my crack research department can work on this — this morning I saw a headline in the Washington Post about a Canadian who was indicted on terrorism charges, and it was summarized thusly:
A 24-year-old Canadian whose father was a close friend of Osama bin Laden was indicted here Wednesday on charges he provided ammunition and explosives for attacks on U.S. troops in Afghanistan, federal prosecutors said.
My cynical, anti-Bush mind immediately pointed out that this sounded like a young Bush. Isn’t the elder Bush a close friend of the bin Ladens? Or am I completely wrong, and he’s only a close friend to the Saudi royal family? And of course, the elder Bush was vice president when the administration gave Saddam Hussein tons of weapons, ammunition, explosives, and chemical agents.
In any case, why is it that people still don’t make a big deal of the Bush family’s intimately close ties to Saudi Arabia’s anti-woman, anti-human rights rulers?
Just wondering.
