Yet another titan arums is about to bloom. You know, those really ugly, big plants that smell like a rotting body when they bloom? The ones that are rare, the ones that only bloom two or three times in their 40-year lifespan?
This one is blooming in Berkeley, it’s expected to open up shortly.
Does it seem to you that this event is far less interesting and rare than it used to be? Seems like everyone has a titan arums these days. I might get one to put in my backyard. And then some of that stuff that coroners smear under their noses to fight the smell.
