Despite my rant yesterday about my dislike for the “new” Morning Edition, I have to say that this morning’s coverage of the Minneapolis bridge collapse was so completely unlike that of the commercial media. In contrast to the sensationalism I saw last night, NPR this morning was restrained, imparted only known facts, didn’t talk over the people they interviewed, and didn’t engage in any speculation. Despite my misgivings about the listenability of their program in the morning, NPR is still the place I will turn to for news and rational commentary.
