Don’t you kind of love the vindication inherent in winning the Nobel Peace Prize for people like Al Gore and Jimmy Carter, a kind of acknowledgement of the fact that they were misunderstood or something? I’m willing to bet that you’re never going to see George W. Bush or Fred Thompson or Dick Cheney or — truth be told — Hillary Clinton winning a Nobel. Not that any of those people care; after all, the Nobel comes with a $1.5 million award, an amount that is pocket change to those people.
Of course, Henry Kissinger also won a Nobel, which seems to me a little off — sort of like someone getting accolades for cleaning up a mess they created in the first place.
