Birthright citizenship: The big Republican issue for 2010 elections?
You know how Republicans (and especially Tea Baggers) like to go on and on about how sacred the Constitution is? Yeah, right. First they want to amend it to take away the freedom of speech inherent in burning a flag. Then they want to amend it to deny the freedom of a consenting, same-sex, adult couple to marry. Now they want to amend it to remove the rule that anyone born in the US is a citizen. (I’m sure they’ll use that to say that Obama is not a citizen.) They want to keep illegal aliens from having children here; but how will they make the determination on which baby is a citizen and which isn’t? They’re not all blond and blue-eyed at birth, you know. Is it just me? Why are the Republican defenders of the Constitution always trying to change it?
