Just As I Thought

Was there ever a more odious excretion than that known as Gingrich? The mere fact that this – well, I hesitate to refer to him as a “man” – has ever held public office is less an indictment of him than it is an indictment of the American electorate.

Newt Gingrich is one of political America’s biggest hypocrites and most egregious moral whiners. His success is due solely to voters who lack the ability to think. Not think critically, just THINK. Without that simple talent, they are easily and quickly swayed by simple sleight of hand on Gingrich’s part.

I’ve got to admit, I am amazed by this. And never more so than this week, when at the latest hilarious debate he was asked by a reporter about his infidelity and the allegations of his ex-wife (his second ex-wife, with whom he was having an affair behind the back of his FIRST wife, by the way). Gingrich, a practiced dissembler and genius at deflecting managed to not only avoid the question but rallied the crowd to applause by rebuking the person who DARED to ask a question about a potential president’s morals.

Gingrich’s official position is that he has been forgiven by God, and that he only lacked in morals because we was so stressed serving his country. Funny how this doesn’t apply to a president, only to whiny, obnoxious poseurs who complain that they have to ride in the rear of Air Force One.

The hypocrisy was breathtaking. And unremarked upon. After Newt’s private implementation of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, he went on to win the South Carolina primary, showing just how important morals are to today’s Republican party. After all, there is a black democrat who has never been involved in any scandal, moral or otherwise, to evict from the White House.
