“They must be hiding something!”
This morning I listened to an NSA official say that it was unlawful for them to monitor the communications of Americans. There was probably once a time when people would hear that and say to themselves, “Oh, well, then they can’t do it and they don’t do it.” Today? My first reaction was, “Since when does that matter?”
