Just As I Thought

Bored. What’s next?

In our inimitable American style, we seem to have become bored with war, terrorist alerts, tax cuts, and the like. In the last week, I’ve noticed the ambient buzz has become very quiet, despite the budget fight in Congress, the still-in-progress war, and today’s lowering of the threat level.
We, the TV generation, have a very short attention span. (As does our President, but I digress.) What will be the next thing to capture our attention for a week or two, generating new revenues for cable news outlets (and for the designers and musicians who create new theme music and graphics for each breaking story)?
Iraq? Afghanistan? Whatever. That’s so yesterday.
