Just As I Thought

Snow job

I am so very tired of local news having apoplectic fits over snow, and even more tired of their harping on road crews for not instantaneously clearing each and every dinky little side street. Reporters are always out interviewing people to see what they thought of the snow removal efforts, and inevitably they air only the people who complain that their street is still snow-bound only hours after the snow fell.
I guess it doesn’t occur to anyone that there are more roads out there than they can comfortably conceive of, and if the powers that be were to purchase plows and hire personnel to clear them all immediately, taxes would be astronomical. People, you knew it was going to snow. Just stay home and relax and stop complaining that you can’t get out on the road to the drive-through.
If I were in charge of plowing streets around here, I’d tell the TV stations bluntly: “If you continue to incite anger by sending out reporters to investigate why one of the 12 billion roads in the area wasn’t cleared within an hour of the snow, I’m gonna keep ALL the plows off the roads and let it melt on it’s own.”
What asses local TV reporters are.
