Just As I Thought

We have to weather the future because we didn’t listen in the past

We’ve now reached a period of longer heat waves, more intense rainstorms, megafires, and droughts. All predicted long ago, and ignored by most people or laughed at by profiteers. It seems like it happened suddenly, but no — it’s been two decades since “An Inconvenient Truth” and even longer since science started sounding the alarm.

This week’s episode of PBS NOVA takes an optimistic tone. I’m afraid that kind of “we can do it!” boosterism is why we’re in the disaster zone now. Too little, too late.

But hey, watch and decide on your own.
