Crushed hamsters?

What in the HELL are those things in the Quiznos Subs commercials? They’re freaking me out and giving me nightmares.
The worst part is that they hired some huge ad agency to produce them. Cripes. Why am I not making a 6 figure salary, anyway?

[Update: Ad Age talks about these commercials -- they give them high marks for breaking through the clutter. Ick.]
