Just As I Thought

A security vulnerability exists in Microsoft

There’s some speculation as to whether the continued security nightmares in Windows are due to the poor programming from Microsoft or the ubiquitous nature of the monopoly’s software.
I present, as evidence of the former, the latest security bulletin from Microsoft, notifying Mac users of a security flaw. What? On the Mac? Well… it’s a security flaw in Virtual PC, which allows one to run Windows on a Mac:

A security vulnerability exists in Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac. The vulnerability exists because of the method by which Virtual PC for Mac creates a temporary file when you run Virtual PC for Mac. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by inserting malicious code into the file which could cause the code to be run with system privileges. This could give the attacker complete control over the system.

Virtual PC software was taken over by Microsoft last year after being published by Connectix for years. This issue only materialized today, after two revisions of the software by Microsoft.
Does anyone connect the dots?
Wouldn’t it be easier to simply release a security notice that covers all Microsoft products ever published, in perpetuity?
