Our esteemed Attorney General John Ashcroft has been actively enforcing the death penalty, overruling states (I thought Conservatives were for states’ rights over Federal rights?). When the Federal death penalty was recently declared unconstitutional, Ashcroft insisted that he would continue to call for the death penalty because, in his words, it “saves lives.”
