Today’s edition of “Marketplace” on public radio had an interesting – and scary – story on a Republican program that denies lobbyists access to their lawmakers if:
- the company has donated money to Democrats,
- has not donated to Republicans,
- if the lobbyist is not a Republican.
This has been going on since 1995, and makes me wonder why it hasn’t been a front page story? The point of all this is that you will not be able to lobby a Republican unless you are of like mind and you pay for the access… and don’t pay the other guys. Is anyone really surprised about this?
The archive for January 7 should be on the Marketplace website tonight or tomorrow.
