Every time I tune into the radio, I hear ads for myriad organizations asking for car donations. “Free towing! Great tax deduction! Why go through the hassle of selling it?”
I can only assume that these organizations sell them off to used car dealers or the like. But who? Where do all these dumped cars end up? Are we now discarding used cars like we used to discard used clothes – by sending them to the Salvation Army? What’s more, the various agencies and organizations must be making a lot of money from this activity, since more and more of them are doing it. I just wonder who is behind it all – there must be companies behind the scenes doing the dirty work and pocketing some cash… but what do they do with the cars? Just asking.
