This is an incredible event: the state of New Mexico house of representatives has passed a bill to protect civil liberties, aimed squarely at the insidious USA PATRIOT Act! Read the text of the bill on the New Mexico state legislature website, and cross your fingers that other states have the cojones to pass similar measures to protect American citizens from the Ashcroft erosion of our Constitution. Now, isn’t this a better use of time than changing cafeteria menus? [Thanks, BoingBoing!]
