While I’m complaining about US leadership, can I just voice an different, interesting opinion?
I simply do not trust anyone in this administration – the president, vice president, cabinet, advisors, etc. I find them all to be devoid of honesty, compassion, or even common sense.
It’s a stark contrast to what I feel about our military. It’s shocking that the civilian leaders of this country come across as war-mongering, totalitarian jerks while the soldiers – from the lowest private to the generals – project an image of appropriate solemnity and caution. When interviewed, each member of the armed forces has represented his or her country in a much more respectful and compassionate way than anyone in the government, Democrats included.
I want to find a way to honor these people who are doing what is required of them whether they agree with it or not. How do I do this without making it seem that I support the policies of this administration? Fly the flag? Tie a yellow ribbon? How?
