Just As I Thought

The Budget Shoe Drops

Of course, now that Congress has passed his massive, pointless, help-the-rich, screw-the-economy budget that cuts spending in education and social programs and cuts taxes by more than $700 BILLION, with a B, President Bush is finally ready to ask for war money.
The White House has been refusing to release any estimates of what the war will cost, and we all know why – if they wait until war has begun, Congress will be forced by the politics of war to pass whatever he asks or risk being called unpatriotic.
So, the game is being played out: send the budget to the Hill. Make it the most ridiculous, fiscally irresponsible piece of fantasy in US history, then start the war.
The amount he is set to ask for is $80 billion. If we cut $726 billion in taxes, where the hell are we going to get $80 for war? Where are we going to get the money for homeland security? How will we pay for anything? Is he crazy?!
