Well, today I fulfilled my quota for manliness, womanliness, and just plain old humanness.
First, I replaced the battery in my original Prius (it’s for sale, by the way) all with my own two hands. I didn’t even know I had a socket wrench — amazing what you find under the kitchen counter.
Then, I baked banana bread. Yeah, I know, full of carbs… but the house smelled so good.
Lastly, I took 5 boxes of clothes and some blankets over to the homeless shelter. I nearly froze just carrying the boxes out to the car, can you imagine what it is like for people with no warm homes to go to?
Shelters desperately need warm hats and gloves right now — if you have any to spare, drop them by your local shelter. Or, if you’re in the market for nice new ones, donate your old ones… or better yet, buy two pair while you’re at Target.
There are two shelters near me, and their info is below. Check this excellent listing website to find a shelter that needs your help.
