Here’s something I don’t understand. Soda–for example, Coke–is water with sugar and flavoring added. A regular soda at KFC costs $1.19, which is pretty much highway robbery.
A bottle of water–not spring water or anything fancy, just Coke’s bottled water–costs $1.49.
That’s right, water costs MORE than soda, even though soda contains water PLUS other ingredients.
Was there ever a more clear cut example of the fact that prices have nothing to do with the actual cost of an item?
And the same size soda at your local theater will cost $3.00. Which is why the concession stand is the profit center of a theater, not the tickets. Going to the movies in the winter is cheaper for me because I can carry snacks in the big pockets of my coat.
