You’ve no doubt heard of the trouble we’re having in D.C. with the municipal water supply — it seems to have elevated levels of lead in it, and the problem seems to have also cropped up in Arlington where I live (we get our water from the same place). While this has serious ramifications and people should be aware of that and take appropriate steps, it’s hardly what I’d call a fluid situation — no pun intended.
Yet, in the pursuit of, well, ratings I suppose, WTOP radio is broadcasting “Lead Alerts” — not just every so often, but every half hour. Now that’s what I call keeping on top of a story.
