Toyota today sent me a letter and a sticker, telling me that they will soon be featuring the sticker on new Prius sent to dealers — and that as an early adopter, they wanted me to have one to put on my car.
It’s a big, ugly sticker saying “2004 Motor Trend Car of the Year.”
As much as I love my Prius, I feel unmoved by Toyota’s bid for free advertising on my vehicle, considering that I paid full sticker price for it AND had to wait for it.
LOL. I got that same huge, ugly sticker yesterday too, and had exactly the same reaction. Although, if it were a small, transparent sticker–like the green leaf on the side window that identifies the Prius’s status as a Partial Zero Emission Vehicle–I might actually be willing to display it on the car.
I was really glad that I got the car when I did, though, considering that the letter from Toyota said that the cars they’ll be shipping to dealers now will come with the sticker already on them.
