I know, there is ultimately no end to the examples of blatant right-wing bias and outright campaigning for Bush on Fox News Channel, and it frankly does no good for me to stress about it and give myself a stroke… but it’s so fascinating to me that people watch this crap and actually believe that it’s “fair and balanced” journalism. This, my friends, is not journalism:
No matter how fleeting, any time seems to be the right time for spin on Fox News Channel.
Heard today, at 12:18 PM ET as David Asman introduced a report on President Bush (just after a report on Kerry/Edwards campaign):
“While Kerry and Edwards are campaigning, President Bush tackles the War on Terror.”
Comment: Kerry campaigns, Bush tackles WOT. Who sounds more presidential? A typically sly Fox spin tactic.
And can you imagine, say, a real journalist like, oh, Edward R. Murrow hosting a frighteningly partisan event, lending his name to it, and airing it live? This is not news, guys. This is campaigning.

Hannity&Colmes opened the show tonight from the stage of the Freedom Concert at
6 Flags Amusement Park in New Jersey. Hannity surrounded by his Country Western idols, rhapsodized about the generosity of the Republican crowd of 12,000, who raised 2 million dollars for families of our armed forces.
“Not a liberal to be found. Eat your heart out Colmes.” Hannity continued to send the message that only Republicans love America and care about the troops. “Here’s a poll for you. How many people here are voting for Kerry?” The crowd booed loudly. “How many are voting for President Bush?” Thunderous cheers and applause erupted.
This Republican Pep Rally returned at 9:42 PM for the remaining 18 minutes of the show. Once again, Fox living up to their Fair & Balanced credo.
