Yet more fuzzy math

Spin really only works if you don’t think too hard.
The Bush gang keeps saying, and now it’s been picked up by news outlets, that Bush was the first president to gain a majority of votes since 1988.
The technicality is that “president” in there, because in 2000, Al Gore got a pretty large majority — 56% to Bush’s 40%.
Meanwhile, since 1988 there have only been FOUR presidential elections. So Bush’s claim is to be the best of THREE, really. Some distinction.
