Today’s traffic story: at nearly every intersection on my way to work today, police cars were stationed, some with lights flashing, constipating the flow of traffic. I pondered this, wondering if they were already starting the inaugural overkill; or perhaps there was a terrorist threat.
Then, nearly to my office, a political report on the radio disclosed that Bush would make a speech about his corporate approach to education out in Falls Church. Suddenly, it all made sense. The police cars were there to close the roads so that the presidential motorcade could pass through.
Pass. That’s a good word for it.
I’ve decided that from now on, when the president leaves the White House, I will call it a Bush Movement. B.M.
I’m not being all poopy, am I?
